Winner to Receive $1,000 Scholarship from the Center for Internet Security
Arlington, VA, October 23, 2015 – This week, the Fall 2015 Cyber Quests launched for participants across the country to showcase their skills in cybersecurity and compete to win a $1,000 scholarship from the Center for Internet Security (CIS). This specific online competition focuses on skills associated with security monitoring and event analysis as outlined in the Mission Critical Role Project by the Center for Internet Security.
“We hope that anyone interested in cybersecurity will take this opportunity to test their abilities and see how their skills rank amongst other competitors,” stated Karen S. Evans, National Director for U.S. Cyber Challenge, the organization that develops the Cyber Quest competitions. “Competitions like Cyber Quests are great learning tools to challenge participants and encourage them to continue developing their skills and ultimately find careers in the field of cybersecurity.”
Registration is currently open and will close on Saturday, October 31, 2015. The competition will close the following day on Sunday, November 1, 2015. Competitors will have three opportunities to obtain the best score possible and will be scored based on both time and achievement.
In addition to the $1,000 scholarship prize for the winner, top performers who live in Virginia will be invited to participate in a NetWars tournament on November 14, 2015, at George Mason University in Fairfax, Virginia.
