Fee Waiver Program

USCC is pleased to announce a new program to sponsor high schools to participate in Cyber Foundations! To be eligible for this program, the high school must provide verification that 50% or more of its enrolled students are eligible for free or reduced price meals as part of the National School Lunch Program and/or the School Breakfast Program, through the Child Nutrition Program funded by the U.S. Department of Agriculture. These school-level counts exclude those enrolled high school students over the age of seventeen. USCC will sponsor the registration for eligible high schools under this program. If you believe your high school meets these requirements, please contact Renee N. McLaughlin at renee.mclaughlin@cisecurity.org or 518-526-3947.

List of Schools

The Cyber Foundations Competition is the entry-level competition in a series of increasingly challenging contests sponsored by the U.S. Cyber Challenge (USCC). Cyber Foundations conducts nation-wide competitions to enable students to demonstrate mastery, win prizes, and gain recognition individually and for the schools they represent, for their cities, and their states. Mayors, governors and members of Congress have played an important role in creating the program and in recognizing the talented young people, giving them an edge in college admissions and scholarship opportunities.

Cyber Foundations has two parts: (1) on-line tutorial and video education materials that allow students to expand their knowledge, and (2) quizzes that allow students to demonstrate mastery. Three topics are presented and tested: networking, operating systems, and system administration. Each topic has a separate set of educational materials and a separate test.
