Rolling Meadows, Illinois Resident Gets $1,000 Scholarship
Arlington, VA, December 7, 2015 – The US Cyber Challenge (USCC) and the Council on CyberSecurity (CCS) announced today that Eric Simonaire, resident of Rolling Meadows, Illinois, is the winner of the Fall 2015 Cyber Quests competition. Simonaire had the best score and completed the competition in the shortest amount of time, beating hundreds of other participants.
Cyber Quests is an online competition that challenges participants to validate their cybersecurity skills through analysis and a series of questions. Cyber Quests is operated by USCC, a program of CCS. To honor Simonaire’s high achievement, CCS has awarded him a $1,000 scholarship. The winner graduated from the Air Force Institute of Technology in 2008 with a Masters in Cyber Operations. Simonaire is presently employed as an Information Assurance Analyst with the U.S. Railroad Retirement Board in Chicago, IL.

The Fall 2015 Cyber Quests competition focused on skills associated with security monitoring and event analysis as outlined in the Mission Critical Role Project by CCS.
